Course overview
In this course, you will be introduced to digital accessibility legislation and regulations, such as the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations.
This will include historical and current trends, and specific laws and legal cases. The content will focus on the UK, although European, North American, and worldwide trends will also be identified and explained.
What you will learn
On the course you'll learn about the scope and intended purpose of the various legislations, the paths to comply with them, and ways to approach claims against you.
The course will end with signposting you to best-in-class resources and events, where you can dive deeper into legislation and regulation, and become a subject matter expert.
Please note:
The course is about digital accessibility. This means websites and apps. For example, the course would not be suitable for someone interested in the laws concerning access to public buildings or workplaces, or similar non-digital aspects of accessibility.
This course will be delivered by a digital accessibility subject matter expert, not a legal expert. We will not be providing legal advice.
Don't let your content let you down when it comes to accessibility. There are simple things you can do to help avoid creating inaccessible content. Learn the basics and beyond with AbilityNet.
