Further course details

  • 4 x 2-hour workshop sessions delivered over two days
  • Participants need to pass a 30-min exam of multiple-choice questions (to be completed post session 4)
  • Participants will be observed carrying out a 1-hour session with a ‘real’ participant and have a 30-min feedback session to discuss their reflection and notes on the session.
  • Participants will be observed carrying out a 30-min session with a screen reader user and have a 30-min support session with AbilityNet between sessions 2 and 3.
  • Documents are required to be submitted/uploaded by the participant following the course completion.

Meet your trainer

Lucy Woodcock, smilingLucy Woodcock

Lucy Woodcock is an Accessibility Consultant and User Researcher at AbilityNet.

With a background in special needs education, Lucy has also worked as a trainer for a social enterprise supporting autistic people.
 
Prior to working in education, Lucy worked in the IT industry as a software analyst and has an MSc in Computing. Her role at AbilityNet bridges her background in working with people with diverse needs and her technical knowledge.

On each day there will be two training sessions, from 10am-12pm, and 2pm- 4pm.

Follow up training and exam dates will be agreed with participants as part of the accreditation process.
