New workshops address recruitment and onboarding pain points

The recruitment process is the first impression most candidates will have of your organisation. According to Glassdoor, 76 per cent of hiring decision makers say attracting quality candidates is their number one challenge. And it also found that strong onboarding process can improve new hire retention by 82 per cent and productivity by over 70 per cent.

So, we have created two new accessibility training workshops, aimed specifically at professionals working either in-house or in recruitment agencies, or in roles which require onboarding new members of staff.

Join us for the brand new courses:

How to develop accessible, inclusive onboarding – 29 September

Date: Wednesday, 29 September, 2021

Time: 1pm - 3pm BST

If the recruitment process is the first impression filled with promise, onboarding and induction should be a honeymoon time where your organisation and your new employee get to know one another properly. Unfortunately this ideal onboarding does not measure up to reality for many new hires, with Gallup reporting that only 12 per cent of employees think their company did a good job onboarding.

In this course AbilityNet’s workplace inclusion experts will discuss the importance of embedding inclusivity at every stage of the onboarding process. The course is interactive and practical and involves real life case studies and employee feedback to help articulate the benefits and how technology can be used to help achieve this.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Describe the dos and don’ts of inclusive onboarding.
  • Understand the unintentional barriers we can create that impact on successful onboarding of diverse teams.
  • Zone in on areas for improvement in your own processes.
  • Harness the power of technology in supporting inclusive onboarding.
  • Implement immediate changes to help your onboarding processes cater to the widest audience.

The intended audiences for this training include diversity and inclusion leaders, HR Directors, hiring managers, and line managers.
