Deloitte Reading pledges 3 years of support for AbilityNet
Annie Mannion | 03 Dec 2025
AbilityNet is excited to announce its new partnership with Deloitte Reading for the next three years, as part of the professional services firm's Social Impact programme.
Disabled people, older people and digitally excluded people will benefit from Deloitte Reading’s fundraising and volunteering efforts.
As part of the social impact programme activity so far, Deloitte has donated 50 laptops which are being allocated to local digitally excluded people in need of tech support, helping to break down barriers and open up new opportunities for connection, learning, and independence.
Three years improving social impact
Deloitte is keen to build better futures for all, with a particular focus on supporting those who are underrepresented and marginalised.
"Social impact at Deloitte is about using our expertise and resources to drive meaningful change on the issues that matter most to people, clients, and society," says James Brass, UK Technology Audit Lead, Reading Office Senior Partner at Deloitte.
Digital inclusion is more than access to technology - it's about dignity, empowerment, and equal participation in today’s world. Thanks to Deloitte’s support, AbilityNet is one step closer to making that a reality for more people. Here's to building a more inclusive digital future, together.
As part of the three year programme of support, Deloitte's Reading team is also organising employee fundraising activities for AbilityNet. You can find out more and get involved:

Positive tech effects in action
Connor Lambert, Digital Inclusion and Information Accessibility Officer at Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) shared how one of Deloitte Reading's donated refurbished laptops has helped one of its beneficiaries:
"Thanks to the wonderful support from AbilityNet and its partners, who recently provided us with several laptops and tablets, we have been able to continue to support those experiencing digital exclusion and isolation. These are a wonderful resource and vital to the work of Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust bridging the digital divide across all of our communities."
This laptop will help the JRHT resident to:
- Manage their new home
- Get more opportunities for employment and work
- Help their family get online
- Access important services and information
"One of the best parts of my job," says Connor, "is getting to make genuine, positive changes to people’s lives. Being able to give someone a digital device that will help them have a better future."
