Interview with Anna Okpekpe - Sales Support Administrator at AbilityNet

Anna Okpekpe joined AbilityNet in September 2025 as a Sales Support Administrator, bringing strong operational knowledge, excellent customer service experience, and highly efficient administrative skills. In this interview, she reflects on what it takes to be an effective member of the AbilityNet Sales Team and shares what she enjoys most about her role.

Please can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Hello, my name is Anna Okpekpe. I’m originally from Poland and have been living in the UK for almost 13 years now. I studied Travel Management at the University of Szczecin, and although my career has taken me in different directions, the travel industry has always held a special place in my heart.

Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of roles, including positions at an online retailer and a leading vehicle testing organisation. Each position has taught me something different and helped me grow, both personally and professionally. I’ve learned how to adapt quickly, solve problems on the go, and stay calm under pressure - and I’ve discovered that I really enjoy working in fast‑paced environments where no two days are the same.

Outside of work, I’m married and a proud mum to four wonderful children. I love keeping active, travelling and discovering new places, reading and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Can you describe a typical week in your role as a Sales Support Administrator?

On a day‑to‑day basis, I manage the AbilityNet Sales Team inbox, making sure enquiries are categorised correctly and responded to promptly. I also support the creation of proposals and statements of work for new and exciting clients.

In addition to this, I oversee a number of small projects - ensuring they’re properly scoped, managed, and delivered on time. I make sure data and transactions are recorded correctly in the systems we use and that deadlines are met.

Another key part of my role involves reaching out to potential clients via email and phone to understand their needs and ensure we’re a good fit to support them.

What are the most important attributes someone doing your role needs to have?

This role is ideal for someone who’s enthusiastic, organised, and eager to learn. Being confident with the Microsoft Office suite is really important, as is the ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly. It also helps to have some basic sales knowledge and strong customer service skills, as a lot of the work involves supporting both colleagues and clients in a friendly, professional way.

What tasks or responsibilities are key to your role, and take up the most time?

A big part of my role involves logging sales transactions and keeping records up to date in our system. I also spend a good amount of time preparing proposals, contracts, and other supporting documents that help move opportunities forward.

What's the most challenging part of your role, and how do you manage it?

Time management and prioritising tasks can definitely be the most challenging part of my role, especially when deadlines overlap. I manage it by staying organised, breaking tasks down, and keeping track of task dependencies so nothing gets missed.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy the variety - there’s a nice balance between administrative tasks and interacting with customers. There are always new things to learn, and the team spirit is great. It’s a supportive environment where everyone helps each other succeed.

What would you say to someone thinking about working at AbilityNet?

If you’re looking for a role that offers flexibility, continuous learning, and opportunities for real professional growth - AbilityNet is a fantastic place to be! You’ll get to work with talented colleagues and collaborate with organisations across many different industries. Most importantly, you’ll be contributing to a mission that genuinely makes a difference - helping create a more inclusive digital world for everyone. It’s both meaningful and rewarding work that I'm proud to be a part of.
