AbilityNet Tech Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with AbilityNet. Our volunteers use their Tech skills and know-how to bridge the digital divide for older people and disabled people, empowering them to achieve their goals in the digital world and participate online. Our vision is a digital world accessible to all.

We have a back log of amazing volunteer applications to work through, and so whilst we action this, applications are temporarily closed.
Exceptions to this temporary closure are for current Citizens Online volunteers and BT/EE volunteers who can complete the online application.

Please note:

  • Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
  • Because the nature of the work involves contact with vulnerable people, all successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced Adult Disclosure check by Disclosures and Barring Service (England and Wales), Volunteer Scotland (PVG), or Access NI ( Northern Ireland)
  • We require twelve months (1 year) of residence in the UK for us to progress with the disclosure check, this is non-negotiable. 
  • We require two character references, one of which must be workplace-related.
  • We take personal privacy very seriously. We will never share your details with anyone else.
