EAA Readiness Service
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) takes effect in June 2025 and will impact any business selling goods or services to EU consumers - including UK businesses.
AbilityNet has partnered with Russell-Cooke LLP to deliver a new EAA Readiness Service, which is a “one-stop shop” to help you get ready for the EAA.
Make an enquiry about our EAA Readiness Service
Our EAA Readiness Service answers your questions about the EAA, including:
Does it apply to me?
- We can connect you with our partner to access legal guidance on whether you are in scope and help you assess the risks of non-compliance, with a solution-focused approach;
- If you already have legal advice, they can give an independent opinion if needed;
- We will help you identify the websites or apps that are in scope.
Are we already compliant?
- We will document your current digital accessibility processes and governance;
- We will conduct a risk analysis and identify the gap between your current position and EAA compliance;
- This won’t make your digital estate compliant, but it will identify your next steps and priorities.
What do I need to do by June 2025?
- You need to identify priorities for compliance and create an action plan to address them;
- Where relevant and appropriate you will need to publish EAA-compliant documentation;
- We recommend that you maintain appropriate internal records for future reference.
What support do we need?
- Our senior consultants will review and assess the maturity of your current in-house accessibility programme, including project processes, skills and resources;
- We will identify next steps for planning, training and development;
- We will provide detailed quotes for any additional expertise or capacity we can offer to help you and your teams.
What is my roadmap beyond June 2025?
- June 2025 is the deadline for compliance with the EAA, which will be enforced in each of the 27 countries in the EU;
- As well as agreeing what you can achieve before June 2025, we will recommend an action plan to help you maintain compliance beyond June 2025.
What does the service include?
The service can be adapted to suit your needs but can include:
- A kick-off meeting to learn about your business and its needs, as well as answer any questions you may have before we begin work;
- A block of consultancy time with our experts to support you through the planning process;
- A roadmap identifying key actions required for compliance with the EAA.
Additional services as required
We can offer a range of additional services to help you progress from here, including:
- A gap analysis of your websites and apps to highlight areas of highest risk;
- In-depth testing of priority websites and apps to accelerate compliance;
- Expert guidance on the public-facing documentation and internal record-keeping that you are required to create and maintain;
- Facilitating working group and stakeholder meetings to maintain progress;
- More detailed legal advice as you progress with your plan;
- More detailed legal or technical reporting to support your efforts;
- Training and eLearning resources to upskill teams.
How much does it cost?
- The exact cost depends on your current situation and which specific services are required.
- Our consultants will agree a fixed price before they begin work.
