We are proud to be partnering with McNaught Consultancy, featuring Alistair McNaught formerly of Jisc, to deliver a complete package of accessibility services to educational institutions, including HE and further education (FE).

Our suite of services for educational institutions will show you how to make sure every student can access all your information and services on each of your platforms.

Perhaps you're a web developer or digital editor at a college or university, or does your role focus on inclusion, or looking after the 'student experience'? You might be looking for evidence to emphasise the need for more budget to be spent on improving accessibility at your organisation? We can help.

Accessibility analysis of your website and VLE

Learn from the experts what your website needs to make sure it offers an accessible experience for your users and complies with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.*

Our expert consultants will scan and analyse your online spaces, including your virtual learning environment (VLE) and external websites, with a suite of modern accessibility tools, to identify any priorities and accessibility issues you need to address.

Choose from a range of options to suit your budget:

  • an introductory level Digital Inclusion Overview half-day session
  • an HE Digital Accessibility review;
  • or a full HE Digital Accessibility Audit.

Our full HE Accessibility Audit report will provide a traffic light rating for every item and we’ll work with your team to help prioritise your plan of action.

Depending on your organisation's accessibility needs and goals, we'll discuss with you which options would work best for you.

* We review accessibility using the WCAG success criteria and offer recommended solutions and further reading to support our findings.

Training for HE digital services – individual and bespoke

We provide you with informative and memorable tailored training sessions to address your specific needs, delivered by experienced trainers from AbilityNet and McNaught Consultancy.

Choose from a variety of training options and select your preferred way of learning. Sessions include an introduction to accessibility, embedding accessibility in your institution’s culture, accessibility for developers, disability awareness, and practical training on using a screenreader.

"AbilityNet's training for our academic and support staff was highly effective and the feedback from the session was excellent. Staff really valued seeing a JAWS user show them in real time the issues which students with visual impairments can face when dealing with access to a range of document formats, and also how the software itself operates. I would highly recommend AbilityNet for its professional and responsive service, and for the quality and relevance of its training." - University of Cambridge

We also offer a Webinar training package - please ask our experts about the titles available.

  • "Thank you for providing this free webinar which has been thoroughly helpful and beneficial. I will be promoting these apps to our students and will be encouraging my team to watch the webinar recording!"
  • "Best webinar I have seen in ages!!!"
