About the role

AbilityNet is currently looking to make three new appointments to our Board of Trustees. As a trustee of AbilityNet, one of the key requirements of the role will be to work with fellow trustees to shape, drive and monitor our charity's strategy. You will use any specific skills, knowledge or experience you have to help the Board of Trustees reach quick and sound decisions by leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or advising on other areas in which you have special expertise.

We are looking to appoint trustees, each with their own specialism:

  • Finance Role: you will be a qualified accountant that has or has had a role within a financial institution, a charity, the public sector or commercial sector
  • HR: you will hold (or have held)) a senior role within HR with and expertise in company culture and employment law
  • Legal: you will be a legal specialist with expertise of risk management strategies in relation to legal compliance
  • Marketing: you will be have (or have had) a lead role in Marketing providing guidance on our marketing, communications and strategic objectives

Recruitment process

An initial sift will take place of applications. Those who have been selected at first sift will have a telephone/Teams interview with the Head of HR. If successful at this stage you will be put forward for a face to face interview with the Chair of Trustees and one other Trustee.
