Leigh Smyth
Leigh Smyth is the Founder of ImpactMatch and an award-winning pioneer in inclusive talent search, digital skills, and impact-led strategy and delivery. She is an experienced impact Judge and Chair, with extensive experience across awards governance, judging panels and national programmes.
Leigh introduced early access to technology for young people through retail before working with the UK Government to design access to technology for low-income families. As the UK’s first Responsible Transformation Director at Lloyds Banking Group, she led the creation of the Digital Skills Academy, which has since supported more than one million people with free training. During her time at Lloyds, she also led and supported major national awards programmes, bringing hands-on experience of awards design, judging and stakeholder engagement.
She built one of the UK’s largest digital skills-based volunteering networks and led the development of the UK’s first Basic Digital Skills benchmark, now in its 10th year, embedded nationally and referenced globally. She also played a key role in the Consumer Digital Index, the UK’s largest measure of digital and financial capability.
Through ImpactMatch, Leigh has placed influential social impact leaders into senior roles across FTSE firms, NGOs and scale-ups, helping organisations embed inclusion and impact into strategy, leadership and delivery. She brings a highly influential network across financial services and the impact ecosystem and is recognised as a Top 1% voice on LinkedIn.
Leigh also helped establish the Digital Poverty Alliance and multiple national advisory taskforces for financial inclusion and played a key role in embedding accessibility into Lloyds Banking Group’s transformation programme. She is a Trustee of AbilityNet and Co-Founder of ActionAble, alongside Sara Weller CBE, driving workplace disability inclusion across the UK.
