AbilityNet ITCanHelp Volunteer Application

Please note: whilst we appreciate your interest in volunteering with AbilityNet, at this time our home visit volunteer service has been temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus, and so we have also put a hold on new volunteer applications in England and Northern Ireland for the time being. If you are interested in volunteering and live in Scotland or Wales, we are looking to expand the team - so please apply.

If you are interested in the broader County Co-Ordinator role we would still love to hear from you. You can download the County Co-Ordinator role description from our website as a PDF and please call 0800 048 7642 during UK office hours or email volunteers@abilitynet.org.uk for more details of this role and the locations available.

To apply to become a volunteer, please enter the Captcha information below and then press the 'Fill Out Application Form’ button.

As part of the application process, as you will often be working one-to-one with clients in their homes we will conduct a disclosure check and an interview will be conducted with the volunteer coordinator in your region.

Please note:

  • Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
  • Because the nature of the work involves contact with vulnerable people, all successful applicants will be subject to a disclosure check (basic or enhanced - dependant on location) by Disclosures and Barring Service (England and Wales), Disclosure Scotland, or Access NI.
  • We require six months residence in the UK for us to progress with the disclosure check.
  • We require two character references

We take personal privacy very seriously and we will never share your details with anyone else.
