AbilityNet and RNIB Tech Volunteer Event
An event to celebrate the amazing contribution of our tech volunteers. Around 100 volunteers from across both charities will come together to experience the latest tech and network with each other and representatives from other charities and organisations.

Time: arrival from 10:00, start 10:30 and close 16:30
Physical location: IBM Southbank Client Centre
Satellite locations: The satellite events will take place at the RNIB offices in the following three locations. The morning presentations in London will be streamed live to your venues. In the afternoon you will have your own workshop agendas.
Edinburgh: 12-14 Hillside Crescent, Edinburgh, EH7 5EA
Belfast: Victoria House, 15 - 17 Gloucester Street, Belfast, BT1 4LS
Cardiff: Womanby Street, Cardiff, CF10 1BR
Dress code: smart casual

On arrival:
On arrival please report to the main IBM reception, you will need to show some form of photo ID e.g. passport, driving license, or other photo ID - this is an IBM centre entry requirement. You will then be shown through to the Client Centre. You will then need to check-in to the event at the desk, collecting your name badge and allocated work shop group. Here you can also get a wi-fi access code.

10:30-10:50 - Welcome from Gary Moore (CEO AbilityNet) and Gary Brunskill (Specialist Lead for Assistive Technology and Digital Inclusion at RNIB)
10:50-11:20 - Microsoft presentation – "Volunteering towards a Digitally-Inclusive Society" - Michael Vermeersch (Digital Inclusion Lead at Microsoft)
11:20-11:40 - No Isolation presentation - “Reducing loneliness and social isolation through warm technology” – Harriet Gridley
11:40-11:50 - Dolphin product tour – Noel Duffy from Dolphin
11:50-12:15 - Q&A panel with all the morning presenters
12:15-13:15 - Lunch

Afternoon workshops:
When you check in you will be given a coloured sticker on you badge to indicate the workshop group you are in. You will rotate round three 50 minute workshops, please see below for details for your group. Please help yourself to afternoon tea in between these sessions and head back to the main room at 4:15pm

During the day please visit our marketplace area where you can meet and chat with representatives from other charities and organisations:

AbilityNet and RNIB will also have stands where you can get hands on with some tech and chat to the staff.

Expenses:
RNIB - please claim your expenses via Topaz in the normal way you usually would when volunteering.
AbilityNet – please claim in the normal way by completing the expense form, attaching any receipts.
