Kingston upon Thames DSA Assessment Centre

Please note: Our DSA Centre is closed at this moment in time for assessments in person as we are unable to accommodate social distancing measures in place for Coronavirus (COVID-19). We can however offer an online video call or telephone assessment service as an alternative. Please contact us and we can explain all options. We look forward to hearing from you.

AbilityNet Kingston upon Thames DSA Assessment Centre"Rebecca [the assessor] was lovely and friendly and really understood the issues that I faced. She explained everything very clearly and demonstrated some of the equipment. She asked if I wanted a break from the meeting or the heating turned up (I have a condition with cold hands) which made me feel comfortable. Very rare to find someone as helpful, polite, friendly and understanding as her." - Ellouise

What happens during a Needs Assessment?

Some people will be concerned that an assessment is a test of some kind - relax and rest assured it's more like a friendly chat. You've already been approved for funding and the assessor is there as an independent expert - there to advise you and make recommendations that will help you to succeed.

Our assessor will use their skills and knowledge to explain the equipment and other resources available to help you and you may even be given the chance to test out some of the equipment. If you'd like to know more about what to expect read our blog about what happens during a Needs Assessment.
