Who we are

AbilityNet exists to help make the digital world accessible to all. We're supported by some of the world's biggest tech businesses and offer a range of free and paid for services that help disabled people achieve their goals at home, at work, in education and online.

During the past year our Free Services have provided over 13,000 hours of free IT support in the homes/remotely of older and/or people with a disability, as well as supporting more than 800 people with over the phone support and advice on technology and disability.

The role

We are looking for someone to join our team part-time, working 9-5 (ideally Wednesday to Friday). You'll have experience of dealing with customers, strong communication skills and the ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency in a busy and varied role. On a day-to-day basis you would be answering telephone and email enquiries from clients and volunteers, moving potential volunteers through the recruitment process, recording and maintaining client and volunteer details within the internal database systems, undertaking checks for on-boarding new volunteers, including reference requests, DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checks, as well as being involved in marketing and promoting our free service offering.

As well as this there is the opportunity to review processes and gain feedback from clients to make improvements, and also involvement with events, training, meetings and exhibitions.


Pension: AbilityNet provides a pension scheme in line with UK legislation with qualifying employees automatically enrolled within 3 months of commencement of service.

Holidays: 25 days holiday plus UK Public Holidays applicable in the UK. Holiday entitlement increases with service by 1 day per year after 5 full years’ service, up to a maximum of 30 days.
